Project:

Monument to Slovenian Independence

Location:

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Year:

2026

Client:

Ministry of Defence of Slovenia

Authors:

Matic Vrabič, Eva Gusel, Bor Kračun–Pižmoht

The proposal for the monument to Slovenian independence is conceived simply and with restraint, using two basic elements: a flagpole and a bronze cast of a wall. It is based on a clear spatial arrangement, while its significance is shaped through context, concept, and the event of raising the flag. The use of bronze establishes a connection with the tradition of public memorials, and the slightly curved wall emphasizes the importance of the space.
